Award-winning chef MJ Adams, elevates the food scene across South Dakota. She created The Corn Exchange Restaurant, hosted SDPB’s Savor Dakota for 3 years, and now appears regularly to speak or demo at food events and for book signings for her recent publication , “The Corn Exchange Cookbook – from The Big Apple to The Black Hills.”
MJ and I have worked together on her website since 2016. (About 10 years prior to that I waitressed for her at the Corn Exchange!) I migrated her old WordPress website over to a new Genesis child theme called Workstation, updated the design and content with her, then set up a recipe post type that she could update on her own. MJ takes wonderful Instagram photos, so we added an Instagram Feed to her home page. With that feed and the recipe blog posts, her site stays fresh and relevant. This fall her book came out, so I set up an ecommerce platform on her site. She uses a credit card reader during book signings, so we made sure the two systems were integrated. Her book is flying off the shelves!
